How long have you been with Eastern Sirens?
About 1 year and 5 months
Why did you join and what do you like about artistic swimming?
I joined because I had finished all the levels in swimming, and I didn’t want to do the squad (which was the next step in watermark after the last level in normal swimming) so I looked for other options that still involved swimming, and I found synchronised swimming, which I thought looked cool, so I tried it and loved it.
What has your journey been like so far? Have there been any challenges?
Throughout synchronised swimming I have been pretty good with timing since my other hobbies are Piano and Dancing classes, which both involve timing. I found the figures and holding my breath most difficult because I was more used to just swimming laps in the pool instead of doing tricks, but I think I’ve gotten a lot better at holding my breath and doing the figures after practicing a lot.
What are you looking forward to this season?
I am looking forward to learning a new routine in synchronised swimming, as well as new figures. I’ve always liked learning new things in swimming so I can help think of ideas for the routine which I also love doing.
