How long have you been with Eastern Sirens?

I trialled out the adult classes at the end of 2023 and absolutely loved it! I officially joined in 2024. 

Why did you join and what do you like about artistic swimming?

I was looking for a new hobby and have always enjoyed swimming and being in the water. I’ve met so many friendly, supportive people, and I’m having a great time while learning new skills alongside everyone.

What has your journey been like so far?

This year, I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in ‘showcase’. I performed with the adult group and also did a duet. It was nerve-wracking to perform in front of an audience, but afterward, I felt so proud of what we achieved.

Have there been any challenges?

It takes me a bit of time to learn and remember all the skills and their names. I’ve found support scull especially tricky and I know once I improve at that, I’ll be able to master the vertical position. 

What are your goals/what are you looking forward to for next season?

I’m really looking forward to doing another duet! I had such a great time with it this season and can’t wait to give it another go.
