Congratulations to our wonderful treasurer Barbara, awarded for recognition for her contribution to the community. We appreciate all the hard work Barbara does for our club! Thank you Barbara and thank you #CommonwealthBank
Thank you Moreland City Council for recognizing the initiatives of our club to begin adult synchro at Brunswick Baths, and congratulations to Prateeti for leading this program. Prateeti was awarded the Youth Contribution Award for her role at Eastern Sirens in beginning regular classes at Brunswick Baths.
Eastern Sirens celebrated the 2018-2019 season with the help of a Change Our Game grant to invite Aus Dolphins swimmer Jess Hansen to speak about her journey through the teenage years and beyond as well as her drive to compete for Australia. Our young girls learnt a lot about how to deal with being a girl in an aquatic environment as well as how to navigate through the later years at school. Encouraging our girls to love themselves for who they are and continue to do what they love even if their friends are not.
We would also like to thank Dustin Halse MP for coming and speaking to our girls and families at our special event today. Dustin Halse MP represents the seat of Ringwood and we really appreciate the support of the local government towards...
We are excited to announce that due to the funding from Maroondah City Council, we have been able to introduce our first mixed duet in the Masters category that will compete until Nationals 2020. This duet has received funding to help cover registration costs from the grant which has significantly reduced burden. Lars (picture right) joined us in our trial sessions for men and is now part of our competitive Adult squad.
Eastern Sirens synchronised swimming club jumped into the deep end with a few of the dads, little brothers and one fiance to introduce them to the sport of synchronised swimming! It was a fun, social activity for our club and a venture into something new. We want to open the sport up to more people who may have previously felt intimidated to try. We support men and women in synchronised swimming and believe that is the future for this fantastic sport.
Congratulations to coaches Rebecca and Prateeti for their participation in Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) Game Changer's program to improve leadership skills. Through this program, our club ran a come and try for adult swimmers at Brunswick Baths. Also a big thankyou to mentor Bella Capezio for making up a short little video to help promote the program.
Wow! This year's Nationals was a huge journey for our parents, coaches, swimmers and committee. We were entered in even more events than last year and had the highest number of swimmer participation so far. It was all worth it with our club placing 6th overall in the Club Championships awards! Fantastic results.
Thank you to the Department of Health and Human Services and Sport & Recreation Victoria for providing our club with a Athlete Pathway Travel Grant to support our swimmers to travel to these championships.
Prateeti Sabhlok recently spoke at the Maroondah Youth Awards about her journey with synchro as the 2019 Maroondah City Council Young Citizen of the Year. This was a great opportunity to let the community know about the great things happening in Aquanation.
Congratulations to all the young adults who were nominated for awards! These awards celebrate the commitment and creativity of young adults in our community and were all well-deserved.
Congratulations Prateeti Sabhlok for being awarded “2018 Young Citizen of the Year” from Maroondah City Council for your work starting Adult Synchronized Swimming Classes at Aquanation! What an exciting start to 2019!
Congratulations to our hard working and reliable treasurer, Barbara, who was awarded with the 2018 Whitehorse Volunteer of the Year award. Much deserved! We are very grateful for Barbara's continued dedication to the sport of synchronised swimming over many, many years.
